Big Changes on the horizon for CK XX

Starting next year we reset the keepers, meaning that for next season (2015) we have a re-draft.  We will however keep Rule V going.  So teams have the ability/option to go into CK 20 with their 2 Rule V'ers only.  This season there will be NO draft pick trading (post draft).  Now in order to determine the draft order for CK 20 we will hold a lottery.  Teams finishing in the top 5 this season get 2 names in the hat, and the bottom 5 only get one name in the hat.  This will eliminate tanking and reward those who do well.  The other little caveat is that whomever gets picked first out of the hat gets to choose his draft position.  Then the 2nd name picked gets to choose his draft slot and so on down till 10.  This draft lottery system is only for CK 20.  In subsequent years we will go back to the old system of reverse order of finish.

The other change for next year would be adding a 6th category to pitching and hitting, thus making CK a 6x6 Roto league.  The categories to be added will be OPS and Holds.

These measures passed in separate votes.

A New Champ is Crowned

CK 18 around mid-season turned into a two horse race between Bier the defending champ and BP the former champ.  BP set the early pace, while Bier clawed his way back into the race and took the lead.  In the end despite finishing at 83.5 points, Bier's Chuggernaut ran out of gas in the final week of the season and fell to the Greasy Palms who finished with a staggering 86 points.  Congrats to the Palms for dethroning the Champion Chuggernaut and claiming their 3rd CK Championship.  The CK Cup now resides out on Long Island.

The Fagan Rule

Due to some growing discontent from early season draft pick trading the league unanimously passed the Fagan Rule.  The rule states that once the season starts teams are not allowed to make ANY draft pick deals till June 1st.

An update from the Commissioner ...

Remember, off-season trading is allowed and encouraged.  If you trade keepers and/or draft picks, it must be an even amount and any player traded must be kept (or transitioned) by his new team.  The 2014 CK Draft List has been posted.  If you guys need your rosters or any other information don't hesitate to ask.  To check if your guy is eligible to be transitioned go to:  http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/ and click on the specific team on the left side of the page.  Once you click on the team, click on the 2012-2017 link.
